I really need to update those stats - outside of adding the recently-launched Hololive board, it's been about 4~5 months since I last did so (not that I expect things to have changed much, but you never know)

PS: If someone knows or has any suggestions on how I can automate the process in some way, I'd really appreciate it. Right now it's a very manual and monotonous process that takes hours, which is why I don't do it often (;´Д`)

For the ~3 years that thing's been running, 5ch seems to have averaged around 2-2.5M posts per day - which is around double what 4chan gets! (ﾟДﾟ;)

I don't have any historical figures for 2ch, but even way back in the day the general sentiment was that 2ch was many times bigger than 4chan - liek, an order of magnitude or two bigger

For reference, according to historic stats provided by m00tles: 4chan had ~22,000+ posts per day sitewide in 2005, ~50,000+ in 2006, 200,000+ in 2007, and ~1,000,000 by 2013. So they definitely narrowed the margin, but they're still a long way off reaching 5ch's level, and 4chan hasn't grown much (if at all) in its second decade of existence

If we're putting anonymity/registration requirements aside, and speaking strictly "bulletin board-like sites where users can post news/topics to a given board and recieve replies/comments in a threaded format", then Reddit had roughly 6.3M posts+comments per day in 2020 according to https://redditblog.com/2020/12/08/reddits-2020-year-in-review/

I don't think there's a single bigger internet forum in the world than that - unless you expand the definition so far that it includes Twitter and Facebook

I don't have any stats from the site itself 10-san (or rather, I haven't looked for any yet LOL), but I've been keeping track of Alexa traffic rankings of various Japanese BBSes as part of a project I'm working on ъ( ﾟｰ^)

Top 10 of this non-exhaustive list so far:
